Robert W. Rigdon, who served as President, CEO and Director of SES from 2009 until February 2016, has been the Vice Chairman of SES since February 2016, focused on the establishment of SES’s new growth platforms including Australia and Poland. Mr. Rigdon joined SES in 2008 and served as Chief Operating Officer where he was responsible for overseeing the implementation and operation of SES’s coal gasification projects worldwide. Prior to joining SES, Mr. Rigdon worked for GE’s gasification business in a variety of capacities, including Director of Commercialization for GE’s Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) product, and Director of GE’s Industrials and Chemicals Gasification Business. Prior to GE, Mr. Rigdon worked for Texaco for 23 years in a variety of roles including chemical manufacturing operations and development, construction, and startup of new, largescale chemical facilities at Texaco’s largest facility in Texas. Mr. Rigdon also served in Texaco’s corporate engineering division based in Houston and focused on improving reliability in plant operating equipment and facilities. Later, under the merged ChevronTexaco, Mr. Rigdon became interested in clean energy applications and joined ChevronTexaco’s Worldwide Power & Gasification group, where he led engineering functions as well as led commercial and technical development of $1B+ gasification-based clean energy projects ultimately serving as Vice President of Gasification Technology for the business prior to its acquisition by GE. Mr. Rigdon is a Mechanical Engineer with a B.S. degree from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
